Pay Rate:
Pay rate is $26-$28/hr. (based on experience) plus overtime. Position is paid bi-weekly as W2 employment.

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: Position is seasonal starting in May and running through August. Start and end dates are flexible dependent on show requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and alter garments for 3 Productions during the Wolf Trap Opera summer season.
• Working with the Costume Shop Manager, Costume Designer and Design Assistant, provide estimates for materials needed to accomplish the design.
• Supervise team of First Hands, Stitchers, and Apprentices as assigned by the Costume Shop Manager.
• Conduct fittings on all assigned garments to determine proper fit and construction needs.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong working knowledge of Costume History and Construction.
• Ability to create patterns from renderings for all types of costumes.
• Ability to determine what alterations, if any, are necessary for pulled, rented and purchased costumes.
• Minimum of three years working in a professional or educational environment.
• Experience with period garments of all genders.
• Opera and/or Theatre experience.
• Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
