Position Summary: In this position as Development Associate, Marketing, you will support The Family Place’s communications, marketing, and event initiatives by producing creative materials, coordinating outreach efforts, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across platforms. This role works closely with the marketing and development teams to design visual content, support organizational events, assist with communications campaigns, and maintain marketing systems that expand community engagement and visibility. The position requires strong graphic design skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. From creating digital and print materials to supporting event promotion and maintaining marketing assets, this role plays an important part in helping The Family Place reach new audiences and strengthen relationships across the community. Key Responsibilities: Marketing & Graphic Design • Design and produce marketing materials, including digital graphics, social media content, presentations, flyers, and event collateral. (Portfolio of work will be requested to review.) • Ensure all creative materials align with The Family Place brand guidelines and visual identity. • Create and edit marketing content to support resale shop promotions, community initiatives, and organizational events. • Assist with visual storytelling through photography selection, image editing, and layout design. Communications Support • Assist with development, approvals, and distribution of organizational communications, including newsletters, invitations, impact reports, and campaign materials. • Prepare marketing and communications materials for distribution across digital and print channels. • Support website updates and dissemination of social media, email campaigns, and other communications initiatives. • Help maintain consistent messaging across organizational platforms. Event Marketing & Coordination • Assist with the coordination and promotion of organizational events. • Assist with registration materials and event communications. • Design event-related materials, including invitations, signage, programs, and promotional graphics. • Support event logistics and communications leading up to and during events. Marketing Operations & Administrative Support: • Maintain accurate marketing and event records within Raiser's Edge and other systems. • Track marketing assets, timelines, and project deliverables. • Provide general administrative support for communications and marketing initiatives. • Assist with the preparation of marketing materials for meetings, presentations, and community engagement activities. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field. • 3–5 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or event coordination. • Strong graphic design skills with experience creating both digital and print materials. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Database experience required; Raiser's Edge NXT preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Strong graphic design and visual communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments. • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Mental and Physical Duties: • Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing, walking, and with occasional need for driving to pick up or deliver items. • Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs). • Ability to tolerate ambiguity and work under pressure to meet deadlines. • Ability to drive your personal vehicle or company vehicle to visit sites or perform other duties for the position. Working Conditions: Work may be performed, but is not limited to an office environment. Ability to work some weekends and evening hours for special projects. Essential Personnel Designation: Non-Essential Non-essential employees will follow Dallas Independent School District (DISD) closure/delay decisions and are expected to work remotely or use PTO during inclement weather.
