Job Description
Our In Vivo Pharmacology group in South San Francisco, CA has an opening for a motivated in vivo pharmacologist who is dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative cancer therapeutics. The scientist will execute in vivo efficacy and PK/PD studies to support novel cancer drug development programs in mouse tumor models. The scientist will work collaboratively in a project team setting with biology, medicinal chemistry, biologics, and DMPK scientists to advance oncology programs through the R&D pipeline.
Responsibilities:
• Execute and optimize efficacy/PK/PD studies utilizing human CDX and PDX tumor models in immunocompromised mice.
• Understand study designs and work towards independent study design planning for assigned/owned projects.
• Analysis of data and presentation of efficacy/PD results to project teams and stakeholders.
• Work closely with and support other pharmacology team members for in vivo studies across team projects.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience).
• Preference for candidates to have a degree in, in vivo pharmacology and experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech industry setting.
• Proficient hands-on experience with in vivo tumor model study techniques, including anesthetization, biological sample collection (tumor, tissue, and blood sampling), cell/drug administration via different routes/sites (SC, IP, PO, IV), and tumor volume measurement.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent laboratory, record keeping, data analysis, and organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Familiarity with graphing software (e.g., GraphPad Prism) and animal study workflow software (e.g., Studylog) a plus.
• Knowledgeable of human cancer cell line models and workflows preceding in vivo study execution.
• Proactive and flexible, with ability to manage multiple projects/studies at any given time, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to a variety of audiences.
• Excellent team player with ability to work and build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional team members.
