Equipment Technician

Location: Corporate Headquarters - Charlotte, NC 28278 Position Type: Full Time Description Primary Purpose and Function: The primary purpose of this position is to evaluate and repair defective units in a timely manner and maintain adequate inventory while meeting the needs of our customers. Responsibilities: • Inspect and identify incoming units • Disassemble and failure analysis/diagnosis • Clean, inspect and prep units for repair • Assist technicians as required • Install and Remove units from the simulator • Shop floor/Inventory control • Maintain organized, clean and safe work area (5S) • Work collaboratively with other departments • Assist technicians as required Qualifications • High school diploma, vocational certificate or equivalent experience (1-3 yrs. mechanical experience) • Strong mechanical ability, average mathematical ability and basic electrical skills • Ability to interpret mechanical assembly and parts drawings • Proficient use of electrical and mechanical devices such as, precision measuring equipment, multimeters, etc. • Strong attention to detail and capable of solving product technical problems • Must work well independently as well as on a team • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Preferred: • Ability to operate forklift and crane • Basic operation of manual machine shop equipment (lathe, grinder etc.) • Machine maintenance or previous mechanical assembly/rebuilding experience • Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) research
