Become a crucial part of the magic as a Ride Mechanic on our team! We are seeking skilled individuals with a passion for fixing and maintaining theme park rides to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests. As a Ride Mechanic, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, conducting routine inspections, and collaborating with our maintenance team. Prior experience in mechanical work is preferred, and training will be provided. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for daily inspection of rides
2. Respond to ride downtimes
3. Troubleshoot ride problems associated with downtimes at site and affect repairs as needed to bring ride back online.
4. Lubricate bearings and moving parts
5. Perform oil change on compressors or gear boxes
6. Maintain mechanical and pneudraulic rides and associated equipment.
7. Repair ride cabins, torque tubes, break replacements etc.
8. Perform rehab maintenance as assigned
9. Decision making skills a must
10. Ability to react quickly to emergency or dangerous ride conditions
11. Provide excellent customer service
12. Perform all job duties in a safe/responsible manner
13. Perform other duties as assigned
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1. High school graduate, GED or equivalent; Vocational and/or Automotive training required
2. Must have reliable transportation
3. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting
4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.
5. Knowledge in the use of all major and basic hand tools
6. Experience with light machinery i.e. drill, press, disc sander, grinders, etc. required
7. Ability to troubleshoot industrial fluid power systems
8. Working knowledge of plumbing, hydraulic systems and gaseous systems
9. Must be able to operate forklifts/trucks
10. Ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams
11. Ability to use micrometers, caliber and pressure checking devices
12. Ability to work with the public on occasion
13. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs
14. Must have the following abilities to satisfactorily perform the Essential Job Functions:
· Specific vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust and focus.
· Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs infrequently required
· Frequent standing, awkward positions, loud noise, twisting, slippery/wet floors; moderate heat and humidity
· Moderate sitting, bending, kneeling, and reaching above shoulders; contact with abrasive/sharp objects, extreme cold, dust, fumes, sprays; contact with skin irritants, toxic exposure (cleaning supplies)
· Follow written and oral instructions
· Solve problems with minimal supervision
· Utilize strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
· Organizing and prioritizing to meet deadlines
· Must have good communication skills
